A belt fitting engagement rail has a rail body for mounting on the inside of a side of a container and having a center portion bulged laterally from the longitudinally extending edge portions. The center portion has a plurality of engagement holes therein spaced along the length of the rail at constant intervals. The engagement holes each have a cross-shape defined by two elongated intersecting portions, one such portion extending longitudinally of the rail and the other extending transversely of the rail. The ends of the transversely extending portions are spaced inwardly of the edge portions to leave a space on the center portion.
